And wonder who we are

For now, in darkness

Spreads all around us

Countless armies

Of so many unseen foes

 

Abroad they scatter

Our lives to shatter

So burdened

‘Till all the heartache shows

But who could blame us

And who would shame us

When facing all these troubles

And such woes

 

Look there in the distance

Not far out of sight

I feel sure

There’s a Savior light

That all health shall restore

Gathered round old friends once more

Embrace those simple pleasures

Like you never have before

Along and spare us

With the passing of the

Bleak Winter snows
