THE DOGS OF WAR

They came at night

Like the ‘Dogs of War’

Laid waste to lives

From shore to shore

All across the land

Among the wealthy and poor

They pillaged and raped

Whatever they saw

 

We were subject now

To a Tyrant’s law

All held in thrall

Until we soon swore

To reclaim our home

From those ‘Dogs of War’

And we vowed there

To suffer no more
